Lack of Attention PT 3 (final)

Sorry to leave you hanging, but I'm bad at this stuff.

When I last left you, I had chosen to take the community service job at the Santa Clarita Community Center. I had no idea what I was in store for.

I'll skip the part of my initial meeting with Brenda and just cut to the chase of what really matters.

This building does a lot within our community. They house the following resources: Salvation Army, Veterans Office, Single Mothers Outreach, County Food Pantry, ESL classes. I'm sure that I'm missing something, but you get the idea. They also are involved with Toys for Tots, Disaster Relief, FEMA, etc.

Lack of Attention PT 2

So... onward with this exciting tale of heroism and testosterone.

Its 2 days later. I didn't feel like going back the very next day. I wanted to take a day off from B.S. So, I head in around 10:00 AM feeling I should be out of there by or around 12:00. PM. FIRST MISTAKE. By the end of the day I learned that if you are not there before 11:00 AM, you will not get seen before they close. Yes, before they close. And they don't close early. They close at 4:15 P.M. A reasonable time if they open at 8:30 A.M.

Lack of Attention

Once upon a time... back in 2009, late at night (11:56 pm), before Christmas, I wasn't paying attention. I was reaching down into the bag of cough drops on my passenger seat. Innocent enough, right? Not when everything matters. Not when all lights are green except your.. red arrow. I know I could have hit somebody, but I didn't. There was no one around. No one. Except, a camera.

It seemed like forever went by before I ever got my ticket in the mail, but eventually I did. It was now after Christmas and I tried to keep it on the DL. I didn't want my mom to freak out and my girlfriend to say anything. I didn't want anyone to draw attention to my lack of attention when driving.

Looking at that ticket can seem a little daunting and the dollar amount due, $410. YIKES! Well, thankfully I had a friend that just got some tickets and he loosely walked me through the process and how to do community service and traffic school instead of paying the ticket and this all ending up on my driving record.
